Traditionally, distinctive store elements, especially fixtures and signage, were simply disposed of with the introduction of a new design program or direction. These changes were often a response to changing times and trends. As a result, retailers have simply thrown perfectly good assets, albeit ones that appear out of date, and replaced them with new elements.

DMD endeavours to create fixtures using high quality, durable and reusable materials. Retailers, such as Cotton Ginny, can then have their assets repaired and reconditioned in order to reflect the new offering. Reduced waste and costs associated with staying current is eliminated.

For Toronto Zoo’s Zootique, DMD has sourced pre-owned fixtures for use in the new store environments. Cleaned, painted and customized to meet our clients’ programs, items destined for landfill are diverted and business objectives achieved.
