ZOOTIQUE – TORONTO ZOO STORE DESIGN

The Toronto Zoo selected DMD from over 30 competing firms to redesign its main gift store in order to help increase all-important revenues and to enhance the guest experience. It was also critical to implement sustainable practices into the space. Finally, as a non-profit, government organization with significant costs directed toward the animals, funds for refurbishing the store were very limited.

In order to achieve the desired results, DMD created large-scale graphics that make the store fun and interactive.  Sustainable elements included recycled paint and fixtures, bamboo millwork, energy efficient lighting and eco-friendly graphic substrates.

The store has been featured in DDI Magazine, August 2009.

Sales are significantly up and DMD is now working on a second location.
